Hello all! Hopefully you had a restful break and you're ready to get back into things. We pray that God has revealed Himself to you in a new way this holiday season. Mark your calendar! The first Mon. night Bible study of the year is Jan. 8. Also, we haven't been meeting at the café because of construction. We're at Chelsie and Tyler's Grandma's. See below for directions. A quick update for those of you who haven't been with us for various reasons. We took a break from Bible study Nov. and Dec. The goal was for everyone to be refreshed and get back in focus. Things had been going pretty hard before that. With no specific vision for the group, the time was being wasted because we had nowhere to go. Many of you know some of the awesome testimonies of how God has used the group to personally touch people who have attended. That tells us that God has plans for the group. Naturally, the enemy doesn't like that. It's logical to assume that the struggle is part of a spiritual attack. That's enough about the bad. We're moving on and not letting the devil get the best of us. Because God has plans for the group, we don't want it to die. We're coming back strong and with a plan. When the group started we were going through a book and discussing it. It's back! The idea is to develop a focus for the Bible study. Why are we coming? What do we want to learn? How should it make a difference in our lives? Here are a couple of books we are looking at: Velvet Elvis - by Rob Bell It all about being a relevant Christian in a post-modern society. Anyone who has seen Nooma knows that Bell always has a powerful message. Being who we were created to be where we are now. Heart Ablaze -Jon Bevere This is turning our righteous, quiet love into something that burns inside of us, something that moves us deeper. We had planned on going through this book, but I'm not sure how many of you actually got it ;) Believing God - by Beth Moore What's the difference between believing in God and believing God? How does that effect your walk with Him? This book talks about that and more. You'll learn the 5 statement faith pledge: God is who He says He is - God does what He says He does - I am who God said I am - I can do all things through Christ - God's word is alive and active in me. These are just a couple ideas and there are probably more that can be used later. We will be deciding on what we are doing when we start back up. We're making the decision in one night, no more! Next week we're starting the study. We've got to get things rolling. Whatever we do, in the end we want to 1. Be more like Christ when we finish and 2. Make more of an impact in our world (which Christ would do=D). If you want to be involved in the Bible study and go through the book with us and keep updated, but can't make it Mon. nights due to distance, or schedule or whatever, let us know. Even if you can make it but would still like to get an e-mail update, let us know. Simply, send an e-mail to pointeUP87@msn.com and put "Mon. night Bible study" in the subject line. May you be blessed this new year and may you see great and marvelous things through Him. May you be captured by His love and enthralled with His beauty. May you love others because He has loved you. May you always be in His dust. Chelsie & Rochelle Directions: The "meeting house" is right on Lincoln Way. in E. Greenville. Formerly Tuslaw Barbershop.
